Foster Care Info Session Wednesday, October 28th at 6:30PM EDT Via Zoom
Foster parents are caregivers as well as agents of active change in a child’s life by setting a good example and providing the time, care, and attention that a child deserves. Foster parents ensure that every child has a place to call home, a safe place they can count on for growth and care. This FREE webinar will walk you through the steps of becoming a foster parent, and answer your questions about the commitment it takes to support a child. There will be a question and answer time at the end.
Meet the Presenters!
Shannon Salvo Assistant Director of Foster Care
Shannon Salvo has been involved with foster care since 2011. She began while living in Massachusetts as a licensed therapeutic foster parent, she and her family then relocated to NJ where they continued to foster medically fragile and drug exposed infants. In July of 2017, she and her husband adopted their youngest child through the foster care system. Following the adoption they relocated to PA and Shannon began working for Access Services as a foster care coordinator. She was able to bring a unique perspective to the position due to having been a foster parent herself and having a vast understanding of “the other side” of foster care. Shannon is now an Assistant Director in the Foster Care department and brings valuable experience and insight through her years working on both sides of the child welfare system.
